Refresh Rate Test & Chart

Measure your display's current refresh rate, then compare common rates from 60Hz to 480Hz.

Higher refresh rates show new frames more often: 60Hz draws a frame every 16.67 ms, 144Hz every 6.94 ms and 240Hz every 4.17 ms.

Frequently asked questions

What is a refresh rate?

The refresh rate is how many times per second a display draws a new image, measured in hertz (Hz). A 144Hz monitor refreshes 144 times per second.

Is refresh rate the same as FPS?

No. FPS is how many frames your computer produces; the refresh rate is how many the display can show. You see at most the lower of the two.

What refresh rate do I have?

Run the test on this page. It measures the rate your display is actually using right now, which can differ from what the monitor supports.
