Right Click CPS Test

Right-click the box as fast as you can and get your right-click CPS. The timer starts on your first right click, and your best score for each test length is kept.

Only right clicks count. The right-click menu is blocked inside the box only. Needs a mouse or a trackpad with secondary click.

How to use the right click CPS test

  1. Pick a test length from 1 to 100 seconds. The default is 5.
  2. Right-click inside the box. Your first right click starts the timer and counts.
  3. Keep right-clicking until the bar along the bottom fills up.
  4. Read your result in right clicks per second. A new best is saved for that test length.

How the test works

The test listens for the right mouse button going down inside the box. It counts the press, not the release, and ignores every other button. The browser's right-click menu is turned off inside the box only, so it can't pop up and steal your clicks.

Your score is right clicks divided by seconds. The timer uses performance.now(), and right clicks that land after the time is up aren't counted. Best scores are kept in your browser on this device, separate from the left-click CPS Test.

Why test your right-click speed?

Many games put a key action on the right button. In Minecraft, for example, right click places blocks and uses items by default, so a faster right click helps when you build quickly. Testing the right button on its own also shows whether it keeps up with your left.

If a press sometimes counts twice or not at all, the switch may be wearing out. The Mouse Test checks every button for missed and double clicks.

Right-click CPS to clicks

Multiply your CPS by the test length to get your click count: 8 CPS over 10 seconds is 80 right clicks, and 6 CPS over 60 seconds is 360. For left clicks and a full table, see the CPS Test. For keyboard speed, try the Spacebar Clicker.

Frequently asked questions

How is right-click CPS calculated?

Right-click CPS is your right clicks divided by the test length in seconds. For example, 40 right clicks in a 5-second test is 8 CPS.

Do left clicks count in the right-click test?

No. Only presses of the right (secondary) mouse button count. Left clicks, middle clicks and key presses inside the box are ignored. Use the CPS Test for left clicks.

Why doesn't the right-click menu open?

The test blocks the browser's right-click menu inside the test box only, so the menu doesn't cover the box while you click. Right-clicking anywhere else on the page works as normal.

How do I right-click on a Mac trackpad?

Click with two fingers. If that does nothing, turn on Secondary click in System Settings → Trackpad. Ctrl-click opens menus too, but some browsers report it as a left click, so it may not count here.

Can I take the right-click test on a phone?

No. Phones and tablets have no right button, and a long press isn't reported as a right click. You need a mouse or a trackpad with secondary click. On a phone, the CPS Test counts taps instead.
